About

Hi, I’m Hilary — and it’s okay if life feels messy right now.

Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, but reaching out is a powerful first step toward feeling better. Whether you're navigating stress, anxiety, parenting challenges, depression, past trauma, or just feeling stuck, I’m here to help. I'm really glad you're here. I work best with adults who are high-achieving, thoughtful, and capable — yet feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. Many of my clients are on the verge of meaningful change but need clarity, encouragement, and practical skills to move forward. This includes parents raising children with ADHD who are carrying an intense mental and emotional load and are ready to support their child by first supporting themselves. You may already understand why things feel hard, but applying that insight consistently can be challenging without support. If you’re ready to begin putting yourself first, build self-trust, and actively engage in the therapeutic process, we’re likely a good fit. I'm a licensed psychotherapist with over 18 years of experience helping adults build resilience, strengthen their emotional well-being, and reconnect with the life they want to live. I believe therapy should be a collaborative process—tailored to you, your story, and your goals. You’re the expert on your life, and together we’ll work to uncover your strengths and create a path forward that feels right for you. My style is warm, affirming, and down-to-earth. I’ll meet you with empathy and respect, but I’ll also gently challenge you when it’s time to grow. I use evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Cognitive Processing Therapy—but most importantly, I focus on creating a safe, trusting relationship where real change can happen. Therapy isn’t just for crises—it’s for anyone ready to show up for themselves. Whether you're new to therapy or returning after a break, you are welcome here. I offer virtual therapy across South Carolina and Oregon, making it easier to fit support into your real life—wherever you are. I work on a self-pay basis and can provide a superbill for possible out-of-network reimbursement. I hold a Master of Social Work and a Certificate in Drug and Addiction Studies from the University of South Carolina, where I also earned my BA in Experimental Psychology. I’ve worked in a wide range of clinical settings including private practice, inpatient treatment, veteran services, and community mental health centers. Outside of work, I’m a mom of two spirited kids and a fan of nature, my dogs, friends, my community, football games, meaningful conversations, and the kind of laughter that shows up when you least expect it. I find joy in life’s messy, magical, everyday moments—and I bring that perspective into my work, too. If you’re curious about what therapy with me might be like,I offer a free 15-minute consultation for new clients. This is a brief, no-pressure conversation to talk about what you’re hoping for, ask questions, and see if working together feels like a good fit. If it feels aligned, we can talk about next steps. If not, I’m happy to help you think through other options. When you're ready, I’m here. To get started, click “Request Appointment” to schedule your free consult.
